ABOUT THE ROLE

A wonderful opportunity has become available for experienced Care Services Employees within catering services to join our fantastic team at Kelso on a casual basis. In this position you will be responsible for providing quality catering and cleaning services to create a comfortable home and working environment for residents and staff.

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In the catering role you will be responsible for:

  • Providing laundry, cleaning and or food and beverage services to vulnerable persons in the residential buildings,
  • Following safe food handling procedures,
  • Follow infection control procedures by using colour coded cleaning equipment appropriately.
  • Following chemical handling procedures by using chemicals supplied, using chemicals as documented in Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) or the supplier, and storing and labelling chemicals.
  • Following Safe Work Practices and equipment manuals to use equipment safely and effectively.
  • Following documentation procedures such as the completion of schedules and other documentation such as Accident Incident Reports.
  • Providing excellent customer service,
  • Meeting appropriate documentation requirements;
  • Acting as a client advocate by reporting concerns regarding client services or client rights to senior staff.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

To be successful in these positions you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience in providing food services in an aged care setting would be an advantage;
  • Experience or a passion for providing food services in a catering / hospitality environment;
  • An understanding of the importance and commitment to providing excellent customer service;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Understanding of Infection Control and Safe Work Practices;
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and take direction to provide quality services;
  • Empathy and compassion for the elderly;
  • An understanding of the importance and commitment to providing excellent customer service;
  • Excellent team work;
  • A commitment to continuous improvement;
  • The right to work in Australia.
