Whiddon is actively encouraging all of our employees to have the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Queensland Health has now approved access to the Pfizer vaccine for all residential aged care workers in Queensland regardless of your age.<\/p>\n<p>They are strongly encouraging anyone working in residential aged care to obtain their COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible and are taking a more active role in the vaccination of residential aged care workers.<\/p>\n<p>They have advised that the Pfizer\/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is <strong>now available to all Phase 1a and 1b frontline workers in Queensland regardless of age, via Queensland Health vaccination clinics.<\/strong> <strong>This includes residential aged care<\/strong> <strong>workers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s how to book your vaccination (provided by Queensland Health):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Register your interest<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Step 1<\/strong>:\u00a0Click the link <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au\/registerforvaccination\/\">Register your Interest<\/a><\/strong> and enter your personal details.<br \/>\n<strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Select the cohort titled \u2018Residential Aged Care Worker\u2019. <em><strong>It is not mandatory to enter your Medicare number or a registration code.<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Step 3:<\/strong> You will be sent an email confirming your registration<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Book your appointment<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nOnce you have registered your interest, you will be sent an email with instructions on how\u00a0to book an appointment\u00a0when\u00a0clinic time and vaccine is available.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong><\/em> <em><strong>For those over 50 wishing to receive Pfizer\/BioNTech <u>they must select a vaccination clinic available to \u2018all ages\u2019 or \u2018under 50\u2019 when they make their booking<\/u>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Information about the vaccine, what to expect on the day of your vaccination and how Queensland Health is committed to protecting your privacy and confidentiality can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/protect-yourself-others\/covid-19-vaccine\/about\/patient-info\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For more information about the COVID-19 vaccine program, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/health-alerts\/coronavirus-covid-19\/protect-yourself-others\/covid-19-vaccine\">Queensland Health website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thank you<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>7 June 2021 The vaccine is an important tool in the fight against COVID-19 and one of the best ways that we can protect ourselves and those around us from this serious virus.
