The Whiddon Group to expand home and community care services to Ballina region.

Whiddon has been providing aged care services across regional, rural and remote New South Wales, and recently Queensland, for over 70 years, including caring for older people at home across the Far North Coast for 10 years.

Whiddon’s Community Care services currently operate across broad regional areas with hubs located in Ballina (relocating from Tweed Heads), Kyogle, Grafton, Beaudesert, Tamworth, Narrabri, Laurieton, Bathurst, Newcastle and Sydney. Whiddon’s expansion into the Ballina area comes following a relocation of one of Whiddon’s Far North Coast hubs to Ballina.
Whiddon General Manager Community Care, Janelle Bajada, said she was delighted to announce to further extend the organisation’s strong presence in the Far North Coast region and looked forward to working with the Ballina community.

“We are delighted to be joining the Ballina community as a provider of exceptional community care services. Working in partnership with our regional, rural and remote communities is at the heart of our organisation and we are genuinely excited about the opportunity to build new relationships and grow existing ones in the Ballina area,” Mrs Bajada said.
“We look forward to offering Whiddon’s care and support services to the Ballina community, including many of our wellbeing and healthy ageing programs and our MyLife relationship based model of care.”

Whiddon’s Ballina office will officially open on Thursday August 2nd, with community members welcomed to drop in, meet the team and find out more about community care and accessing Home Care.

Whiddon Community Services Manager, Jodi Peel, said that with a number of options out there for consumers, understanding how Home Care Packages and services work, including how to access care and how funding works, is essential for older people and their families.

“Accessing aged care services can be a difficult and confusing process so it’s incredibly important to understand what your options are, what you may be eligible for and to know how to get started and where to go for assistance,” Ms Peel said.

“Our Understanding Home Care Open Day on August 2nd welcomes all community members – we’ll have our experienced team here on the day to assist people with understanding care options and funding and to help with getting started with MyAgedCare”.
