Update for families from Whiddon Redhead on our response to COVID-19

With the growing number of COVID-19 cases in south-west Sydney and potential exposure points in the wider Sydney and Hunter areas, we wanted to provide you with an update on our response to this situation. We are pleased to advise you that there are no cases of COVID-19 at any of Whiddon’s aged care homes.
As you may know, we have taken important precautionary measures to help stop COVID-19 from entering our care homes. As we continue to monitor this situation and follow advice from NSW Health, these precautions do remain in place.
For now, visits are on compassionate grounds only until we know more about this unfolding situation. If you would like to arrange a visit on such grounds, please speak with your Care Manager.
Staying socially connected
We understand the importance of keeping our residents connected during this time, so our team is working hard to facilitate phone and video calls wherever possible. We also have a free app, Checked-in-Care, that is available to download. We can provide you with access to this app, so you can enjoy video calls through this platform. Click here to get started.
Our teams are ensuring that residents continue to enjoy their favourite interest group activities. These includes exercise groups, creative activities, games and other interest based activities in the care homes to keep residents occupied and entertained during this time. We know how important these are to our residents’ wellbeing.

We know this is a challenging time and we genuinely appreciate your support as we implement these measures to help keep your loved one safe. We look forward to increasing visitation once again, once it is safe to do so.
