From October 2025, Mareeba will officially become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whiddon.com.au\/location\/residential-care-maclean-mareeba\/\">Whiddon Maclean Mareeba<\/a>. Importantly, no staffing changes are expected, ensuring residents and families continue to enjoy the same familiar faces and continuity of care they know and value.<\/p>\n<p>Directors Steve Gordon and Sam Baker shared, \u201cWe are confident that Whiddon is the right provider to take Mareeba into the future and continue the legacies the Baker and Gordon families have helped grow over the last 40 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Whiddon\u2019s Growing Presence in Maclean and Northern Rivers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Whiddon already has a strong footprint in Maclean through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whiddon.com.au\/location\/maclean-retirement-village\/\">Whiddon Retirement Village<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whiddon.com.au\/location\/residential-care-maclean\/\">Whiddon Maclean Residential Care<\/a>, both of which will remain in operation. With the addition of Whiddon Mareeba Maclean, the community will have greater access to aged care, retirement living, and home care services close to home.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition highlights Whiddon\u2019s focus on regional and rural aged care in NSW, ensuring older Australians can continue living connected, supported, and meaningful lives in their local communities.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Strengthening Aged Care Across NSW and Queensland<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The acquisition means Whiddon\u2019s network will grow to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>23 aged care homes<\/li>\n<li>12 retirement villages<\/li>\n<li>A home care service supporting communities across NSW and Southeast Queensland<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This expansion further cements Whiddon\u2019s role
