Tom, a Community Care client, had a few difficult months, in the lead up to and following the passing of his beloved wife.<\/p>\n
Family means the world to Tom and having his wife and best friend pass away reinforced the importance of family and close relationships, Tom is now taking the trip of a lifetime to visit his hometown in Scotland \u2013 his birthplace \u2013 to reconnect with extended family after a number of years.<\/p>\n
Tom says he\u2019s looking forward to seeing his sister and catching up with his cousins, uncles and aunties who all remained in Scotland. With him, he\u2019s taking his daughter Lorraine and brother Peter, saying: \u201cI hope they have a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019ll be an adventure. To him, Scotland is quite small, smaller than his current home state of New South Wales, so he\u2019s keen to make his way around. \u201cYou can go and see a lot of places just in one day or two days,\u201d Tom says.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you get to seventy I think it\u2019s just trying to keep yourself as fit as you can\u2026 I can\u2019t walk very far but I\u2019m happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
After Scotland, he has plans to go to Broken Hill next, so it looks like he\u2019s caught the travel bug.<\/p>\n
