Benefits of working with Whiddon

The types of leave you can access will depend on whether you are employed on a permanent or casual basis:

For Permanent Employees (Full-time or Part-time):

You may be entitled to:

• 5 weeks of annual leave – Supporting work-life balance.
• Long service leave – Available after just 5 years of continuous service.
• Paid parental leave – 12 weeks (or 24 weeks at half pay) for primary carers, 4 weeks for secondary carers.
• Grandparent’s leave* – Time off to enjoy special moments with your grandchildren.
• Fertility leave* – Up to 5 days paid leave (from personal leave) to support fertility treatment.
• Compassionate leave – Up to 4 days paid leave during difficult times.
• Community service leave – Up to 3 days paid leave annually.
• Frank Whiddon Day – An additional paid public holiday each year.

For Casual Employees:

While casual roles aren’t eligible for all leave types, you may be eligible for:

• Long Service Leave – After 5 years of continuous service.
• Unpaid Carer’s Leave
• Unpaid Compassionate Leave
• Unpaid Domestic and Family Violence Leave – Up to 5 days.
• Unpaid Parental Leave – If eligible (usually after 12 months of regular and systematic service).
• Community Service Leave – e.g. jury duty (unpaid, though some costs may be reimbursed).
