Update to Whiddon Belmont employees

We are very pleased to share that we are now in the position to welcome back visitors to Whiddon Belmont

We genuinely thank you for your amazing efforts in keeping our residents, and each other, safe.

While this is very welcome news, we do ask visitors to follow our visitation guidelines and remain vigilant at this time. With increasing numbers of COVID-19 in our local communities, it is important that we all take steps to help keep everyone safe. Please also note that we are encouraging visitors to get their booster vaccine if they are eligible to do so.

Please continue to wear appropriate PPE and complete a rapid antigen test when you arrive on shift. Social distancing must be observed at all times, including the staff room and nurses station. Please also monitor for symptoms and do not come to work if you are unwell.

As a reminder, we encourage you to have your Booster shot and send evidence of your vaccination to payroll@whiddon.com.au at your earliest convenience. Eligibility for booster shots are for those that have had their second dose at least 4 months ago.

Update to Whiddon Temora families

We are pleased to advise you that we are now in the position to welcome back visitors to Greenstone Lodge from tomorrow, 25 January 2022.

While this is welcome news, we do ask that you follow our visitation guidelines and remain vigilant at this time. With increasing numbers of COVID-19 in our local communities, it is important that we all take steps to help keep everyone safe.

Please note that this applies to Greenstone Lodge and Narraburra Lodge has remained open to visitors.

Visits must be pre-booked through our administration team and visitors will be asked to complete a rapid antigen test upon arrival. Please also note that we are encouraging visitors to get their booster vaccine if they are eligible to do so.

Our guidelines for visiting at this time:

  • Residents are permitted to have two fully vaccinated visitors aged 12 years and over, per day
  • Visitors must have received a second dose of a COVID vaccination at least 14 days prior to their visit
  • Visits must not take place in communal areas and must take place in residents’ rooms
  • All visitors must wear a surgical mask and face shield when visiting
  • Visitors will be asked to complete a rapid antigen test as a condition of entry
  • Unvaccinated visitors are only permitted to visit a resident who is at the end of life. Please speak to your loved one’s Care Manager directly to gain the necessary approval to visit

Please ensure that you:

  • pre-book your visits. Please note that the number of visitors allowed at any one time may be restricted to enable management of capacity limits refrain from visiting if you have COVID-19 symptoms

Update to Whiddon Easton Park employees

We would like to provide you with an update from Whiddon.

The local Public Health Unit have advised that residents can receive external visitors, however this has strict guidelines which are listed below. We understand that many people may feel nervous about this, however if the below guidelines are followed then any risk can be minimised.

We are also encouraging employees and visitors to have a booster vaccine if they are eligible to do so.

Current visitation guidelines are as follows:  

  • One fully vaccinated visitor, per resident, per day, is permitted
  • Visits are to occur between 9am and 12pm and 1pm and 4pm on weekdays (visits outside of these hours will be at the discretion of management and only when there is employee capacity to do so)
  • There will be limits to the numbers of visitors who can book in at each time to enable management of capacity limits
  • All visits must be pre-booked
  • Where possible, outdoor visits will be encouraged
  • Visits cannot not take place in communal areas
  • All visitors must wear PPE, including an N95 mask and a face shield, this will be provided to visitors (visitors can re-use the face shield provided on their next visit)
  • Only visitors over 12 years old are permitted and all visitors must have received a second dose of a COVID vaccination at least 14 days prior to their visit
  • Visitors will be asked to complete a rapid antigen test as a condition of entry
  • Unvaccinated visitors can only undertake a window visit (which must be pre-booked) and must not enter the home, except when the residents is at the end of life.

Please ensure the following:

The last few weeks have been challenging, however the hard work from all employees has seen very few residents develop COVID-19. We thank you for keeping our residents safe and for your dedication and support through these extraordinary times.

Arthur Webb Court

There have not been any residents test positive to COVID-19 at Arthur Webb Court. Residents are able to leave their rooms and move around their immediate area. However, we are asking that residents do not move between the different levels of Arthur Webb Court.

Easton Park Units

We are pleased to advise that the residents at Easton Park Units who had previously tested positive to COVID-19 have now recovered. As per the directives of the local Public Health Unit, these residents must continue to isolate in their rooms until Monday.

Sir David Martin

On Level 1 (ground floor), we do not have any residents who currently have COVID-19.

On Level 2, there are now four residents that have tested positive to COVID-19.

Please note that residents who have tested positive to COVID-19 are required to stay in their rooms at the advice of the local Public Health Unit. All other residents are able to leave their rooms. Residents in the affected areas, must stay in the  immediate vicinity of their room and adjacent lounge areas. Zoning of areas helps minimise the spread of Covid-19.

It is expected that on Monday, two of the residents who had previously tested positive to COVID-19, will no longer need to isolate, and the immediate area surrounding their rooms will no longer be isolated from the rest of the building. This is welcome news.

Taylor House

We currently do not have any residents who have tested positive to COVID-19 in Taylor House. Residents are able to leave their rooms and move around their immediate area. We are asking that residents do not move between the different levels and wings of Taylor House.

Update to Whiddon Moree families

21 January 2022

We are pleased to let you know that we received advice today from the local Public Health Unit that Whiddon Moree residents are no longer required to isolate in their rooms. The local Public Health Unit has instructed us to undertake rapid antigen testing of residents tomorrow and we hope to be in the position to welcome back visitors from Monday 24 January pending these results.

We will provide a further update on Monday to confirm that visits will be permitted, or to let you know if there is a change to this after tomorrow’s rapid antigen testing. The Public Health Unit will make this decision based on the testing results. Visit bookings can be made once this approval is received.

Visits to Whiddon Moree, once permitted, must be pre-booked through our administration team. We also ask visitors to wear an N95 mask and shield at this time as a precautionary measure. Please also note that we are encouraging visitors to get their booster vaccine if they are eligible to do so.

We would like to provide you with an update from Whiddon Easton Park. You will find an update for each of our care homes at Whiddon Easton Park below, along with a reminder of our visitation guidelines at this time.

Arthur Webb Court

We continue to work with the local Public Health Unit. Please note that any decision to isolate or de-isolate an area is made in close consultation with them.

As such, visitation to Whiddon Easton Park has been approved by the local Public Health Unit, however it is essential that the following visitation guidelines are adhered to in the interest of everyone’s safety, and to ensure that employees can remain focussed on resident care.

Update to Whiddon Mudgee families

Please be reminded that the visitor arrangements currently in place at Whiddon Mudgee Pioneer includes that visits may only take place on weekdays for now. This means that visitors are not able to book in to visit this weekend. Please note that this will also apply to the Australia Day Public Holiday next Wednesday. This is due to the additional pressure on our teams and will greatly assist us with our screening processes at this time, when the risk of COVID-19 is high in our community.
