The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was introduced in 2013 by the Australian Government. The scheme is overseen by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and allows individuals with a permanent and significant disability to access government funding.
The funding goes directly to your plan, to allocate spending on the services you need from a provider of your choice.
By choosing Whiddon, we work with you to help you achieve your short-term and long-term goals – whatever these may be!
You will need to determine whether you’re eligible for this funding. This can be done by completing their Eligibility Checklist. You can then apply – once you determine your eligibility – by making an access request.
Generally the service is for you, as you hold the NDIS package and services are in place to assist you. If you live with other people, and there are communal spaces within a home that are used by everyone, these will be cleaned as part of your NDIS package.
The service time will depend on your individual needs, the services that you are receiving and the funding available in your NDIS Plan.
Service time will vary between each person, depending on your goals and funding available. These could be from 1 hour to 6 hours of service.
Service agreements are created based on the your needs and available funds in your NDIS plan. These are calculated using the NDIS Support Catalogue which is available on the NDIS website.
Yes you can receive all services on the same day. This is all dependent on your NDIS Plan and the available funds available to support your goals.
A disability service provider is a person, business or organisation who delivers services to people living with a disability. Each service provider will have a wide range of expertise and requirements to deliver services to an individual, and is based on the participant’s NDIS plan.
