COVID-19 vaccination rollout update for employees
We are pleased to advise that the COVID-19 vaccination for people in the 1a and 1b priority groups is now available. This includes both residential and community care employees.
Any employee working in aged and disability care is eligible to receive the vaccination, regardless of their role. This includes care, leisure, hospitality, maintenance, administration and support services staff.
Whiddon supports the vaccination program to reduce the risks that COVID-19 poses to our residents, clients, employees and visitors.
How can I get my COVID-19 vaccine?

Once you receive your immunisation record, please provide a copy to your manager so that your vaccination can be recorded in our system.
Why should I get the COVID-19 vaccination?
Receiving the COVID-19 vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and our residents and clients from COVID-19 infection. To find out more about why you should get vaccinated click HERE.
The vaccine is an important milestone in the fight against COVID-19. Higher vaccination rates make outbreaks much less likely and reduces the need for preventive measures, such as border closures and travel
restrictions. This will help us get back to the things we love to do like travelling and visiting loved ones that we haven’t been able to see during the pandemic. And importantly, this is a vital step in protecting the residents and clients in our care.
Can I still receive the fluvax if I have had the COVID-19 vaccination?
We strongly encourage all of our employees to receive both the fluvax and the COVID-19 vaccination. The only consideration is that the fluvax should not be given within two weeks of receiving either of the two COVID-19 vaccinations.
