As you may know, last week we implemented several precautionary measures following advice received from NSW Health in response to the COVID-19 situation in the Newcastle local government area. These measures do remain in place for now, until we are advised otherwise.

As a reminder, please find these measures below:

• Visits are on compassionate grounds only. Our team are required to seek prior approval from the local NSW Health Public Health Unit for any visits on compassionate grounds
• All aged care staff must wear a surgical mask while working in our home

We are pleased to advise that there have been no cases of COVID-19 at Whiddon Redhead or at any of Whiddon’s other aged care homes.

Are your contact details up to date?

It is important that we have the right contact details to contact our residents’ families and representatives quickly. You can help us with this by updating your contact details when they change. You can do this here.

Next update

We will provide you with another update next week, or sooner if we need to. Please remember to share these updates with family members and friends who would normally visit your loved one and also encourage them to check our COVID-19 page on our website for the latest updates.

We thank you for your understanding and support as we implemented these important measures. We understand this is a challenging time and look forward to increasing visitation once again, once it is safe to do so and the NSW Health directives are lifted.
