Update for Whiddon Kyogle Families

8 July 2022

We have had two residents test positive to COVID this morning. Families of the residents have been notified, and both residents are experiencing mild cold like symptoms.

All residents at Whiddon Kyogle have commenced a 10 day monitoring schedule from today, which involves Rapid Antigen Testing on Day 1, Day 3 Day 5, Day 7 and Day 10 (today being Day 1). This is upon advice from the Public Health Unit.

For now, only residents who have tested positive and residents assessed as a close contact are required to be isolated in their room. All other residents are free to move throughout their own areas at present.

As we continue to assess the situation over the next 72 hours, visitation is limited to one nominated partner-in-care. Partners-in-care must book their visits prior to visiting our care home. All visitors are required to complete a rapid antigen test as a condition of entry, wear an N95 mask and may be asked to wear additional PPE at this time, such as a face shield. Please refrain from visiting if you are unwell.

Our employees also continue to be monitored daily by conducting a Rapid Antigen Testing prior to the start of their shift. Pleasingly, there are no current employees testing positive to COVID.

We thank you for your patience and assistance during this time.
