Update to Whiddon families

17 December 2021

With a significant number of COVID-19 cases now being reported each day, it is vital that we all take steps to keep our residents, employees and visitors safe. We all have a role to play in this.

We ask that you please consider delaying your visit for now if you can. This will help us to reduce the risk of COVID-19 from entering our care homes at this time. Our teams can support you to stay connected via video and phone calls where possible. We also have the Whiddon Connect app that you can download and book a video call in with our team.

If you do need to visit at this time, please ensure that you take all steps possible to help us reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 in our care homes.

Please note that this advice may change if NSW Health mandates any changes to visitation.

Please ensure:

  • you do not visit if you are unwell or have been to any locations of concern
  • show evidence of having the required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
  • you wear a mask at all times when visiting, and visit with your loved one in one of our outdoor areas rather than inside the home if possible. Please refrain from meeting in common areas, or visiting other residents.
  • that if you are travelling to our regional homes, to please remain vigilant and take steps to avoid the potential spread of the virus in these areas
  • you do not visit if you are awaiting a COVID-19 test result, are a close or casual contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19 unless they have completed their self-isolation and testing requirements.
  • you do not visit if you have been to an overseas country of concern in the last 14 days or have been to other overseas countries (not of concern) in the previous 14 days, unless they are: fully vaccinated and have received a negative PCR test 7 days or later after arrival in NSW

We know this is a challenging time for all, however these are very important measures to help us keep your loved one safe, and you, as COVID-19 remains a threat in our communities.

We thank you for your support and cooperation. We will provide a further update next week.
