Update to Whiddon Hornsby families

12 January 2022

Following our last update to you on Friday 7 January, pleasingly, there have not been any further residents at Whiddon Hornsby test positive to COVID-19.

All residents remain well and rapid antigen testing of residents undertaken on Monday 10 January all returned negative test results. While we have had a number of positive cases at Whiddon Hornsby that we have previously mentioned in our updates, this is considered low risk to the care home.

As the risk of community transmission of COVID-19 continues to escalate, on the advice of the local Public Health Unit, we are strongly discouraging residents from leaving our care home for external outings and appointments at this time. Visitation remains restricted at this time.

Please talk to our Administration or Lifestyle team if you would like us to arrange a Zoom call with your loved one. Our teams are working hard to keep you connected to our loved ones at this time as we know how important this is.

We are accepting delivery of care packages for residents, however, please note that these items will be quarantined for 72 hours as a precaution. Unfortunately, perishable, unpackaged foods are unable to be accepted.

Please be reassured that while our employees are experiencing additional pressure at this time, they remain committed to providing the very best of care to residents. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful team here at Whiddon Hornsby, and we do welcome any feedback that you may have for our team.
