Dear Families,

We encourage you to read this letter and share it with any others visiting your loved one. The letter provides an update on what we are doing and what you can do, to ensure we keep yourself and residents, as safe as possible at this stage of the pandemic.

Update for Whiddon Redhead families

Dear Families

Please be aware that 2 residents in Keppel House have returned positive Rapid Antigen Tests this morning.

Merewether East Wing is now declared a Red Zone with all residents in this wing having precautionary PCR testing today.

The Public Health Unit will be notified and  “exposure” protocols for the Home have commenced.

Residents in Merewether East are confined to the Red Zone with 1 partner in care encouraged to visit. In- room isolation is not required for negative tested residents.

All visitors to the top floor of Keppel House are required to wear full PPE / Face Shield and N95 masks.

Update for Whiddon Grafton Families & Staff

Dear Families and Staff,

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a number of COVID-19 exposures with a number of residents testing positive at Whiddon Grafton.

Please note:

• All visits must be pre-booked
• Upon arrival, visitors will be required to complete a RAT test
• Visitors are required to wear PPE for the duration of their visit
• Residents can have 1 nominated visitor per person for the duration of the exposure period

The team continue to work with the Public Health Unit and we will keep everyone updated as changes occur.

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a COVID Exposure in Whiddon Narrabri, Jessie Hunt.

Please note:

• Upon arrival, visitors will be required to complete a RAT test
• Visitors are required to wear PPE for the duration of their visit

Update for Whiddon Kelso Families & Staff

Dear Families and Staff,

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a number of COVID-19 exposures with a number of residents and staff testing positive at Whiddon Kelso.

Please note

• Residents can have 1 nominated visitor per person for the duration of the exposure period, for essential visits only
• All visits to  must be pre-booked with administration between the hours of 8.30am- 4.30pm
• Visits must take place in the resident’s room or an outside, well- ventilated area, only
• Visitors must sign-in and complete a negative RAT test and wear an N95 mask and shield to enter

The team continue to work with the Public Health Unit and we will keep everyone updated as changes occur.

Update for Whiddon Largs Families & Staff

Dear Families and Staff,

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a number of COVID-19 exposures with a number of residents and staff testing positive at Whiddon Largs.

Please note that antiviral medication is being administered to all residents who have tested positive and only mild respiratory symptoms have been reported. PCR testing is currently being done facility wide.

Please note

• Residents can have 1 nominated visitor per person for the duration of the exposure period, for essential visits only
• All visits to  must be pre-booked with administration between the hours of 8.30am- 4.30pm
• Visits must take place in the resident’s room or an outside, well- ventilated area, only
• Face shields and masks are to be worn for the duration of the visit
• Visitors must sign-in and complete a negative RAT test and wear an N95 mask and shield to enter

Update for Whiddon Moree Families & Staff

Dear Families and Staff,

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a number of COVID-19 exposures with a number of residents and staff testing positive at Whiddon Moree withing Federation Wing.

We anticipate this may spread across the home as residents have been coming together for group activities over the past few days.

Please note:

  • Residents can have 1 nominated visitor per person for the duration of the exposure period, for essential visits only
  • Visits must take place in the resident’s room or an outside, well- ventilated area, only
  • Face shields and masks are to be worn for the duration of the visit in Federation Wing
  • Visitors must sign-in and complete a negative RAT test and wear an N95 mask and shield to enter

  • Face shields and masks are to be worn for the duration of the visit

Update for Whiddon Narrabri Families & Staff

Dear Families and Staff,

We are pleased to advise that the Exposure notification for Whiddon Narrabri, Jessie Hunt has been declared closed.

There have been no further cases, and normal visitation arrangements can now be resumed.
