Hi everyone,
An update on the plans for the weeks commencing 12.06.23 and the 19.06.23. We are moving into the next stage of renovations at Jessie Hunt which entails the closing of Boheena wing. The week commencing the 12.06.23 we will be moving the residents from Boheena wing into Nandewar Wing as per conversations with family members.
The week commencing the 19.06.2023 will see the closure of Boheena wing, we will have some minor noisy works due to demolition. All works will be carried out with the residents wellbeing our first priority. These works will again be completed intermittently with ceased works during mealtime.
As when completing renovations we run into unexpected hurdles, and we do apologise for this in advance. Overall feedback from yourselves at this point of the renovations is pleasing and is that the impact is limited with the noisy works occurring.
I ask again that you do advise the team if you are experiencing any issues or have concerns regarding these works. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding with all the disruptions.
Kind Regards,
Ros Anderson

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,
Several of the Residents at Largs have tested positive for RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) and one Resident has tested positive for Influenza. You will hear directly from the service if your loved one, is one of the Residents that has tested positive.
We have reported this outbreak to the Public Health Unit (PHU). We will work with the PHU to ensure that we are doing everything we can to minimise the impact of this outbreak to other consumers, families and staff.
Visiting is not currently restricted, however young children are particularly at risk of severe illness from this virus and as such cannot visit at this time.
Residents identified are unfortunately isolated in their rooms for a period of 7 days, and visitors are required to wear PPE as directed by the staff.
We thank you for your understanding at this time.

Dear Employees,
Each year the Fair Work Commission review the minimum wage rates. On 2 June 2023 they announced 5.75% increase to Modern Award Rates.
As Whiddon has an Enterprise Agreement and generally pay above the Award, our next step is to review our Enterprise Agreement rates against the modern award rates to ensure our rates of pay remain in line or higher.
In most cases our rates are higher than the modern award rates however with an increase of this level there are some rates that need adjusting.
Please read these FAQs to learn more: Wage Increase Update

Hi all
At this point in time, Whiddon are still working through the consultation process with some care team members to finalise their rosters.
To ensure we have been able to consult with all team members, it has meant there has been a further delay to having an agreed publish roster by Monday 5 June 2023.
Therefore, we are advising that we anticipate the finalised and agreed roster will now be published on Monday 19 June 2023 with the roster commencement date being Monday 3 July 2023.
We appreciate that this process can be difficult; so, we remind you about Access EAP who can be contacted on 1800 818 728.
