Important Information for Whiddon Kelso Families, Friends & Representatives 14.06.2024

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

Following consultation with the Public Health Unit, we would like to advise that we have activated the COVID-19 outbreak management plan. At this stage, the outbreak is isolated within our Memory Support Home – with two residents testing positive.

We are pleased to advise that no other wings have tested positive at this time, however, we will provide any updates as they occur.

Please note:

  • Visitors are required to take a Rapid Antigen Test before entering and are also required to wear N95 surgical masks with additional PPE required in the Memory Support Home.
  • All visitors are encouraged to consider postponing any visits if they are unwell or experiencing any flu-like symptoms. The safety of our residents and team members is our number one priority.

We thank everyone for their support and understanding while our staff manage this exposure.

Important Information for Whiddon Easton Park Units (EPU), Families & Representatives 13.06.2024

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

Following consultation with the Public Health Unit, we would like to advise that the COVID-19 outbreak in EPU continues in our Dementia Care – Mallam Unit only.

We are pleased to advise that no other wings have tested positive at this time, however, we will provide any updates as they occur.

Please note:

  • Visitors are required to take a Rapid Antigen Test before entering and are also required to wear N95 surgical masks with additional PPE required in the South Wing.
  • All visitors are encouraged to consider postponing any visits if they are unwell or experiencing any flu-like symptoms. The safety of our residents and team members is our number one priority.

Important Information for Whiddon Robert Young Employees 13-06-2024

Dear Employees,

We are advising an update on the COVID-19 outbreak at Whiddon Robert Young. Please be advised that we now have 3 residents and 2 employees from our South Wing who have tested positive.

Please note that at this time no other wings have tested positive however, caution is to be taken as usual with the colder months upon us.

Please note:

  • Employees are required to continue to take a Rapid Antigen Test and are also required to wear N95 surgical masks with additional PPE in affected areas.
  • All visitors are encouraged to consider postponing any visits if they are unwell or experiencing any flu-like symptoms.

Important Information for Whiddon SDM Residents, Families & Representatives 10/06/2024

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

Please be advised that Whiddon Sir David Martin – Level 1 (Treloar and Heathwood) is currently in COVID-19 Outbreak with 15 active cases.

Please note:

  • Visiting may still occur during this period, restricted to resident rooms.
  • Visitors are required to follow our safety precautions including:
    • Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) are required by all employees and visitors before entry.
    • Full PPE including N95 Masks are to be worn while inside the care home.
    • Regular handwashing and use of hand sanitisers are strongly encouraged. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the care home.
    • Maintain appropriate social distancing whenever possible. Visits should be conducted in resident rooms or on balconies.
  • All visitors are encouraged to consider postponing any visits if they are unwell or experiencing any flu-like symptoms. The safety of our residents and team members is our number one priority.

Important Information for Whiddon Kelso Residents, Families & Representatives 26/04/2024

Dear Whiddon Kelso Residents, Families & Representatives,

Please be advised that Whiddon Kelso is currently experiencing an active COVID-19 Outbreak, in our Kingston Wing.

Please be assured that you will still be able to visit your loved ones during the outbreak. In line with advice from the Public Health Unit, visitors will be required to take Rapid Antigen Testing before entry and will be required to wear N95 masks and full PPE.

Visitations may only occur in your loved one’s room.

We will provide a further update if anything changes.

An Important Update for Whiddon Mudgee Friends, Families and Employees 14 03 2024

Dear families and employees,

Whiddon Mudgee’s phones and internet are currently down. We understand this is due to an IT hardware issue.

We expect the issue to be resolved by midday tomorrow, however, will update you if there is any change to this timeframe. Phones are currently being diverted to a mobile phone so that you can still call reception.

Whiddon – Code of Conduct Policy (Section 11 – Code of Conduct)

11. Code of Conduct Compliance

11.1 Compliance to Code of Conduct
All employees at Whiddon must comply with this code of conduct and report any breaches to their manager or the Executive General Manager People and Culture or the CEO. This is to ensure the appropriate management of such issues before they escalate and to ensure Whiddon’s reputation isn’t compromised.
There are a range of consequences for breaches of this code, and they vary depending on the nature and seriousness of the matter. Employees should comply with the code at all times; however, managers also have the responsibility to address alleged breaches of the code promptly and in a fair and reasonable manner.
Possible outcomes that could be used in the case of a breach may be:
• Counselling;
• Performance improvement plans;
• Formal disciplinary action;
• Referral to the relevant registration board when the staff member is a registered health practitioner;
• Referral to the police in cases of suspected possible criminal activity;
• Termination of Employment.

11.2 What to do if you are concerned about a breach of the Code

Employees should report any breach or concerns about a breach of the code to their manager. If they are not comfortable in reporting to their manager, they may report to a more senior staff member. Staff should understand that The Whiddon Group is committed to protecting staff who speak up about their concerns and this is highly valued as it protects other staff and clients.
All employees at Whiddon are responsible with familiarising themselves with the Code and Whiddon Values and for following these principles for the duration of their employment. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
The Board and executive management will support any employee who is acting in good faith and who reports a breach of the Code or wrongdoing of any kind. Employees will not be subject to disciplinary action for raising genuine concerns.
Concerns raised and complaints made will be taken seriously and investigated whilst respecting the confidentiality of all those involved. Investigations are to be dealt with in a consistent and effective manner within reasonable time frames and ensuring fairness to all parties.

11.3 Protection for the individuals who raise concerns about a breach of the Code
The Whiddon Group is committed to protecting any person who raises concerns about a breach of the Code from detrimental action. Any attempt to take detrimental action against a person(s) who raises a genuine breach of the Code will be treated seriously and may result in disciplinary action.
For the purpose of the statement above, detrimental action refers to an action causing, comprising or involving any of the following:
• Injury, damage or loss
• Intimidation, victimisation or harassment
• Discrimination, disadvantage, or adverse treatment in relation to employment
• Dismissal from, or prejudice in, employment
• Disciplinary proceedings

Important Update for Whiddon Easton Park Units (EPU) 22 02 2024

Dear Residents, Families & Representatives

Following consultation with the Public Health Unit, we are pleased to advise that the COVID-19 Outbreak at Whiddon Easton Park Units (EPU) is over.

Normal visiting arrangements will remain in place, with everyone requested to complete a daily RAT before entering the Home and to continue to wear a mask, please.

Important Update for Whiddon Easton Park – SDM 22 02 2024

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

Please be advised that Whiddon Easton Park – SDM, is still experiencing active COVID-19 cases. Thankfully, all impacted residents are continuing to recover well.

Please find below the level-specific visitation advice:

LEVEL 1 (GROUND LEVEL) VISITOR ADVICE

Level 1 has one active COVID-19 case. Infection prevention and control (IPC) measures include Daily RAT, face shield and N95 mask to apply while visiting level 1.

LEVEL 2 VISITOR ADVICE

The Public Health Unit has deemed Level 2 as a Green Zone. Staff and visitors are to continue to adhere to infection prevention and control (IPC) measures including Daily RAT and N95 mask in Level 2.

Please be assured that you will still be able to visit your loved ones during the outbreak.  These visitations may only occur in your loved one’s room.
