Update to Whiddon Redhead families

8 August 2022

We have been working closely with the local Public Health Unit and can provide an update to you on all COVID-19 outbreak areas at Whiddon Redhead.

The earliest date that John Read House, Wing 6 will resume to normal visitations is on 16 August.

Residents in Keppel House, Dudley West require further PCR testing on 10 and 13 August, to ensure we can safely re-open the area to visitors in the near future.

Message for families at Whiddon Easton Park

8 August 2022 

Since our last update we have had a small number of residents test positive to COVID-19 and several residents who have now recovered.

Visitation restrictions during this time will remain limited to one partner-in-care only in Easton Park Units. This does not impact Arthur Webb Court, Taylor House or Sir David Martin. Please ensure your visits are pre-booked and you refrain from visiting the facility if you are unwell.

The health and safety of our residents and staff remain our utmost priority, and we continue to work closely with the local Public Health Unit to ensure a safe re-opening of the Easton Park Units at Whiddon Easton Park.

You’ll receive morning tea, followed by a screening of the 2022 film, Good Luck to you, Leo Grande.

Update to Whiddon Redhead families

We would like to provide an update to the current COVID-19 outbreak at Whiddon Redhead.

Keppel House, Dudley West and John Read House, Wing 6 are still restricted to one nominated partner-in-care. We are working closely with the Local Public Health unit to ensure we can safely re-open these two areas soon.

We are pleased to announce, the outbreak in all other areas of Whiddon Redhead has been declared over, and visitation can return to normal. We want to remind you that all visits must be pre-booked and if you’re unwell, please refrain from visiting the home.

Update to Whiddon Casino families

29 July 2022 

Following from our last update, we have had a number of staff and residents test positive to COVID-19.

COVID positive cases are being contained to the first floor of Whiddon Casino and visitation remains limited to one nominated partner-in-care for those on the first floor. Partners-in-care must book their visits prior to visiting our care home. All visitors are required to complete a rapid antigen test as a condition of entry, wear an N95 mask and may be asked to wear additional PPE at this time, such as a face shield. Please refrain from visiting if you are unwell.

We are currently being supported by a representative of the Commonwealth COVID Management Team and have been provided additional staff to support our team through the Surge Workforce Support Program.

We would like to provide an update on the current COVID outbreak at Whiddon Redhead. We have been advised that the local Public Health Unit are currently reviewing the outbreak and we are awaiting on further instructions.

The health and safety of our residents and staff remain our utmost priority, and we continue to work closely with the local Public Health Unit to ensure a safe re-opening of Whiddon Redhead.
