Update for Whiddon Easton Park Units Residents 28/12/23

Dear Families, Representatives & Employees,

Please be advised that Easton Park Units (EPU) is currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak with 2 residents currently testing positive – both in separate areas within the home.

Families of affected residents will be kept up to date on any changes by the EPU Management team, as they occur.

We understand the importance of family at this time, so we encourage visits, however, if we could please ask visits to occur outside or in a well-ventilated area only during the outbreak.

Families taking loved ones out, we ask that you please be cautious and if possible, please try to limit this to small crowds or gatherings.

Residents who leave the facility are encouraged to wear a mask and all residents will be tested regularly whilst we are in Outbreak Management.

We appreciate your understanding at this time.

Update for Whiddon Beaudesert Families & Employees 27/12/23

Dear Families, Representatives & Employees,

Please be advised of the following important updates for Whiddon Beaudesert.

Normal power has been restored to the Home following the storms that have impacted Beaudesert and the surrounding areas. During the power outage, the generator was in use, which provided ongoing supply to the Home.

There is also a small COVID-19 outbreak and families of affected residents will be kept up to date on any changes by the team at Whiddon Beaudesert, as they occur.

We also have a staff member who has tested positive.

We understand the importance of family at this time, so we encourage visits, however, if we could please ask visits to occur outside or in a well-ventilated area only during the outbreak.

Families taking loved ones out, we ask that you please be cautious and if possible, please try to limit this to small gatherings.

Residents who leave the Home are encouraged to wear a mask and all residents will be tested regularly while we are in Outbreak Management.

Please be advised that Whiddon Kelso is currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak in the Memory Support Home. All other areas of the Home remain clear on initial testing of all residents.

Families of affected residents will be kept up to date on any changes by the team at Whiddon Kelso, as they occur.

We also have a number of staff who have tested positive.

We understand the importance of family at this time of the year, so we encourage visits, however it would be appreciated if visits could please occur outside or in a well-ventilated area, during the outbreak.

Update for Whiddon Bourke Residents & Employees 26/12/23

Please be advised that Whiddon Bourke is currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak.

We understand the importance of family at this time of year, so we encourage visits, however, it would be very much appreciated it visits could be held on the outside verandas.

Families taking loved ones out, we ask that you please be cautious and if possible, please try to limit this to small crowds or gatherings.

Residents who leave the facility are encouraged to wear a mask and all residents will be tested regularly while we are in Outbreak Management.

You may be requested to wear N95 masks and PPE, as advised by our staff, and thank you in advance for your understanding.

We will keep you updated should there be any change to the situation.

Affected residents have mild to no symptoms and families will be kept up to date on any changes by the team at Jessie Hunt, as they occur.

We understand the importance of family at Christmas, so we encourage visits, however, if we could please ask visits to occur outside or in a well-ventilated area only during the outbreak.

Update for Whiddon Easton Park, Aurthur Webb Court – Families, Friends & Representatives 21/12/2023

Dear Families and Representatives

Following consultation with the Public Health Unit, we are pleased to advise that the COVID-19 Outbreak at Easton Park – Arthur Webb Court is over.

Normal visiting arrangements will remain in place, with everyone requested to complete a daily RAT prior to entering the Home, and to wear an N95 mask, until further notice.

We thank everyone for their support and understanding, especially over the Christmas break.

Update for Whiddon Casino – Families, Friends & Representatives 18/12/2023

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

I happily would like to introduce our new Management team at Whiddon Casino.  Carolyn Coleman has been appointed as Director of Care Services (DCS) and will team with Tania Anderson as the Deputy Director of Care Services (DDCS).

Both Carolyn and Tania have worked for Whiddon previously and locally at the Casino Hospital, bringing with them a vast knowledge of aged and acute experience.

A meet and greet gathering will be organised in the New Year enabling everyone to meet personally with both.

In the meantime, I am sure you will join me in welcoming Carolyn & Tania to their new roles and the Whiddon Casino community.

Update for Whiddon Kyogle – Families, Friends & Representatives 18/12/2023

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

Please be advised that Whiddon Kyogle is currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak.

At this stage, visitations continue with screening in place and please note the conditions of entry:

  • Visitors are advised to continue with screening, RAT testing and N95 masks, masks will be provided upon entry.
  • Visits must continue to occur only in the resident’s room or well-ventilated area.
  • Please refrain from visiting if you’re feeling unwell or have come in contact with a positive case of COVID.

We encourage our residents to wear masks if they leave the facility for social outings or appointments due to increased cases in the community.

Please note the conditions of entry:

  • Please refrain from visiting if you’re feeling unwell or have come in contact with a positive case of COVID.

We encourage our residents to wear masks if they are leaving the facility for social outings or appointments due to increased cases in the community.

Updated for Whiddon Belmont – Families, Friends & Representatives 30/11/2023

Dear Families, Friends & Representatives,

We wish to advise that major electrical upgrades will be commencing next week, Tuesday 5th Dec with power being changed over to generators from 3 pm and all mains power turned off at 8 pm.

Please note that we expect the work to be completed by 11 am Wednesday 6th December, however, we will ensure to provides updates as they occur.

We would like to ensure that resident care and meals will not be affected as all facilities will be powered by generators for the duration of the works, while extra staff will be rostered to assist during this time.

However, please note the lift in Moonyah will not be operational during the outage.
