Services Australia will send you a letter that explains to you the funding you are approved for. The local Coordinators from Whiddon will help explain this letter to you and what you can access in a way that you understand.
The Support at Home program is designed to help older people remain independent and living safely in their own home for longer. There are 8 ongoing funding classifications, with the level of funding based on your assessed care needs. On 1 November 2025, the Home Care Packages Program was replaced by the Support at Home program. People who were approved for a Home Care Package on or before 12 September 2024 are covered by the government’s “no worse off” arrangements and will not pay more in contributions than they would have under the previous system.
Support at Home includes 8 ongoing funding classifications, as well as separate funding for assistive technology and home modifications, plus short-term pathways for restorative care and end-of-life support.
