Date: 21 March 2018

The Whiddon Group has partnered with Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living to host the Kitchen Table Masterclass, a fun cooking, educational and social group in celebration of the NSW Seniors Festival.

The free event will give older people in the local community the opportunity to connect with others, learn new skills and gain nutritious and tasty recipe and cooking tips.

Whiddon research shows that half of Australians aged over 65 experience feelings of loneliness, and that the level of connection to your community is an important factor in this. Having access to regular community activities to help create new social connections is important to older people.

This event, like our VintageBites cooking program, offers a really important opportunity for older people to make new connections and share their love of food, learn new skills and enjoy new experiences.

We know that enabling people to do things that are meaningful to them makes a huge difference. Food knowledge, skills and traditions sharing is a great vehicle as food is so important to all of us with strong social and cultural implications.

Bookings are essential. For bookings and transport assistance call 1300 738 388.
