The Whiddon Group Temora are delighted to again host the much-loved fishing and camping family weekend ‘Temora Fisherama’ event on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 March at Lake Centenary, Temora.

Whiddon Temora Director Care Services Gail Lynch said the event offers a jam-packed weekend of fun for all ages.

‘Fisherama is truly a great community event and offers a range of competitions, live music and the unique opportunity to camp overnight at the beautiful Lake Centenary.’

‘With around $10,000 worth of prizes up for grabs thanks to the support of many generous local businesses, funds raised from this year’s event will go towards an outdoor area in our secure wing which will feature a lovely garden and men’s shed.’

‘One of the things I love most about Fisherama is watching local families, the community and our residents come together to embrace and enjoy this experience. It is very important for our residents to have the opportunity to remain connected with our community.’ Ms Lynch said.

Registrations commence at 8am on the first day and is $20 per adult, $10 per child (17 years and under) or $50 per family. The camping fee is $15 per family. A fishing licence is required and can be obtained from the Caltex Service Station opposite Woolworths, Temora or online at www.onegov.nsw.gov.au.

The first 50 children under 10 will receive a free bag of goodies. Major raffle prizes include a tinny with a motor, trailer and boat cover; a generator; an ice box; and camping chair and will be drawn on Sunday 19 March.

Food and refreshments including bacon and egg rolls, hot and cold drinks, chips, lollies and homemade slices will be available, along with a tasty BBQ served up by the Temora Men’s Shed.

Recreational Fisheries Management will be present with their Fishcare Advisory Trailer, providing information about the care of our native fish species. They will also be organising a casting competition on Saturday for junior competitors.
