Whiddon’s Seniors Program is a day respite program that runs two days per week at our Narrabri residential home. The program provides social support for older people and respite for carers.

The day respite program offers a range of social, creative ageing and wellbeing activities. These activities vary from week to week, with clients’ preferred activities incorporated into the activity plan.

The Program focuses on enabling and encouraging older people to maintain and improve their independence. The activities that we offer as part of the program will include exercise programs aimed at promoting strength and reducing the risk of falling and activities that promote cognitive engagement.

Our activities include:

  • Art, craft and music activities
  • Outings in the community to cafes and events
  • BBQs and special events
  • Learning to use iPads
  • Discussion groups, games and entertainment
  • Physical activities around regaining strength and mobility.
