Whiddon International Nurses Day

Celebrating International Nurses Day

What is #ShareThatYouCare?

This International Nurses Day, Whiddon wanted to say a big thank you and recognise the incredible and valuable work of nurses across Australia. These often forgotten heroes dedicate their lives to caring for us and our loved ones in times of need and now is the time to say thank you.

We’re raising awareness of the role nurses play through a social media campaign called #ShareThatYouCare. The campaign begins on May 12th, International Nurses Day, and runs for two weeks. The aim of the campaign is to encourage our communities far and wide to show their thanks by taking a moment to appreciate the work nurses do and help spread the word.

How is Whiddon celebrating the day?

As well as our social media campaign, we’re taking time on International Nurses Day to say a big thank you to our incredible care staff at our aged care homes and community care services and to the nurses in hospitals and health services in our local communities.  With the generous help of Boost Juice, Bakers Delight, SPC Pro Vital and Chobani, our residents and staff are delivering special care packages to nurses in our community to say thanks.

All of our homes are celebrating the day with special morning or afternoon teas on International Nurses Day where our care staff are our special guests and are the recipients of our thank you cards from residents, colleagues, families and friends.
